160–290 MHz Dome-Type EW Antenna NR17 – Quadrifilar
Manufacturer: BlueBird
Product type: EW > Quadrifilar Antennas
Description:
The NR17 dome-type quadrifilar helix antenna (QHA) with right-hand circular polarization (RHCP) is designed to operate in the 165–280 MHz range and has a nominal range of 160–290 MHz. Thanks to the quadrifilar design geometry, the antenna provides an almost quasi-spherical radiation pattern with predominant radiation in the upper hemisphere, making it optimal for use in EW systems when interacting with aerial targets: drones, light aircraft, and fast-moving objects.
Purpose:
The antenna is designed for integration into electronic warfare (EW) systems. A wide operating frequency band, good SWR performance (SWR < 1.5 in the key range), circular polarization, and a stable radiation pattern ensure reliable operation with targets that change orientation in space or move at high speed.
Specifications
Below is a complete list of the main technical parameters of the NR17 antenna. Illustrations are available for clarity: S-parameter S1.1 graph and radiation patterns.

Features and Benefits:
1. Right-hand circular polarization (RHCP) increases the probability of acquiring targets with variable orientation.
2. Wide operating band and low SWR ensure parameter stability in real operating conditions.
3. Anodized aluminum and polyethylene (PE) component construction guarantees corrosion resistance and durability when operating in the range of -40℃ to +80℃.
4. Compact dimensions (Ø ~630 mm, height 450 mm) and a weight of about 5 kg facilitate integration into carriers and mounting structures.
Application:
The NR17 antenna from BlueBird is recommended for use in EW systems, electronic jamming and surveillance equipment, as well as in solutions for detecting and tracking aerial objects such as UAVs and light aircraft.
If you need additional technical data or drawings for integrating the antenna into your EW system, please refer to the manufacturer's technical documentation or request a consultation from specialists.
