Description of Kentavr PZP-600I Starter-Charger
The TM "Kentavr" starter-charger, model "PZP-600I", is designed for charging 12V and 24V lead-acid batteries (hereinafter — batteries), and gel batteries. For all types of vehicles, other industrial and household equipment, as well as starting vehicle engines with discharged batteries.
The product's power source is a single-phase AC network with a voltage of 230V and a frequency of 50Hz.
The TM "Kentavr PZP-600I" starter-charger model belongs to "intelligent" electronic products and is intended for use in stationary conditions in parking lots, garages, etc., or in "field conditions" with mobile power sources.
The product's operating principle, based on an inverter unit, is built on converting single-phase 230V AC current at 50Hz into output DC current using pulse-width modulation technology with a high level of stability.
Products with an inverter unit, unlike traditional transformer-based ones with diode current rectification:
- do not cause voltage spikes in the electrical network during operation, which allows their unhindered use in everyday life;
- do not have charging current dependence on input network current fluctuations;
- do not affect the operation of other networked household appliances;
- the product's circuit solutions include protective functions (against incorrect connection to battery terminals; against reverse current after engine start; against short circuit of terminals; against charging damaged batteries that have lost the ability to store energy; against product overheating, when it automatically switches to slow charging mode until normal temperature is restored);
- have compact dimensions and weight, which increases convenience and mobility during operation.
The product's safety level is achieved by using modern developments and technologies in its manufacturing, ensuring optimal operating characteristics, reliable operation, and durability during use.
The product also incorporates protective systems.
Overheat protection. During prolonged operation of the charger and/or in case of high ambient temperature, the overheat protection system may activate and temporarily shut down the product until it cools down.
Overload protection. Activates in case of increased voltage in the power supply network or if the charging current exceeds the maximum permissible value for the charger.
Short-circuit protection. Activates in case of a short circuit in the power supply network, contact clamps of the charger touching each other, or connection to battery terminals with internal plates shorted.
