Happymodel ExpressLRS ES900RX 915MHz Radio Receiver

Happymodel ES900RX 915MHz — a compact and reliable receiver module for long-range wireless communication, built on the open-source ExpressLRS software. The Happymodel brand offers this module as an optimal solution for FPV flights and competitions requiring minimal latency, stable telemetry, and long-range communication. The ES900RX is designed for integration into transmitters and interaction with flight controllers of modern drones.

Description and Compatibility

The module operates at 915MHz and is compatible with most OpenTX-platform radio controllers, including Radiomaster TX16S, Jumper T12, T16, and T18. Installation is very simple: insert the ES900RX into the corresponding module slot in your transmitter — and it's ready to use. Firmware updates are supported via Betaflight pass-through or Wi-Fi, allowing for quick access to new software versions and expanded functionality.

Advantages and Applications

Small dimensions and minimal weight make the ES900RX ideal for compact frames and racing quadcopters, where every gram saved is important. Thanks to the reliable SX1276 RF chip and ESP8285 processor, the module ensures stable operation and good reception sensitivity. CRSF protocol support provides fast command and telemetry exchange between the receiver and the flight controller, reducing control latency during intense maneuvers.

Binding and Update Recommendations

Below are step-by-step instructions for binding the ES900RX to a transmitter and updating the firmware via Wi-Fi, which correspond to the manufacturer's instructions and will help you quickly set up the module.

Procedure for Binding ES915TX/ES900TX Module to ES900RX

  • 1. Power on the ES900RX, wait for the red LED to turn off, power off, and repeat these steps.
  • 2. When the ES900RX is powered on for the third time, the red LED will flash rapidly twice — this means the module has entered binding mode.
  • 3. Insert the ES900TX or ES915TX module into the radio transmitter and select external RF mode for the CRSF protocol.
  • 4. Enter the ELRS menu on the radio transmitter and press [Bind]. The red LED on the ES900RX will turn off, then start flashing slowly, and finally light up steadily — this indicates successful binding.

Updating ES900RX Firmware via Wi-Fi

  • 1. Put the ES900RX into binding mode and wait for about 1 minute without binding — the module will automatically enter Wi-Fi mode.
  • 2. Connect to the «ExpressLRS» Wi-Fi hotspot, enter the password «expresslrs».
  • 3. Open 10.0.0.1 in your browser, select the desired firmware, and click «update».
  • 4. Wait 1–2 minutes. After completion, a message «firmware update successful and reboot» will appear — the update process is complete.

The ES900RX is an optimal choice for FPV enthusiasts and pilots looking for a lightweight and compact receiver with high range and communication reliability. The module is suitable for integration into most modern transmitters and drones where fast telemetry, low latency, and easy firmware updates are required.
