Fenix LR36R Laser Search Flashlight
The Fenix LR36R is a powerful handheld flashlight from the Fenix brand, designed specifically for search and rescue operations, tourism, and speleology. This model combines high-power floodlight illumination with a laser diode for long-range targeting, making it a versatile tool in extreme operating conditions. Product category: Camping & Tourism > Camping > Camping Lanterns.
Design and Light Sources
The LR36R operates on 13 emitters: 12 Luminus SST 25 LEDs with a warm-neutral color temperature of 6000K–6700K for a wide floodlight beam, and one CT1-Mini laser diode with a range of up to 1260 m, which serves for pinpoint indication and illuminating distant objects. The maximum brightness of the floodlight is 10000 lm.
OLED Display, Sensors, and Protection
An OLED display is located on the body, showing the current light output, battery level, and remaining runtime. The built-in intelligent proximity sensor reacts when the flashlight approaches an illuminated object closer than 60 cm and automatically reduces brightness to a safe level to prevent heating or ignition of objects. There is also overheating protection: when the temperature reaches approximately 60°C, the electronics automatically switch the light to less powerful modes until fully cooled, after which the brightest modes can be resumed.
Operating Modes
The flashlight has 9 modes, grouped into 4 lighting types:
Floodlight Group
- High: 10000 lm – 26700 cd – 2 hr 3 min – range 326 m;
- Medium: 5000 lm – 11231 cd – 2 hr 32 min – range 212 m;
- Low: 50 lm – 101 cd – 102 hr – range 20 m.
Laser Group
- High: 350 lm – 396600 cd – 4 hr 3 min – range 1260 m;
- Low: 50 lm – 69513 cd – 16 hr 30 min – range 527 m.
Combined Group (Floodlight + Laser)
- High: 10000 lm – 390600 cd – 2 hr 27 min – range 1250 m;
- Low: 100 lm – 66286 cd – 15 hr – range 514 m.
Special Group
- Strobe: 10000 lm;
- SOS: 50 lm – 69513 cd – 38 hr – range 527 m.
Important! Runtime in "High" modes is calculated including periods of operation in less powerful modes, to which the system automatically switches for cooling.
Control
Control is conveniently performed with one hand using an electronic button and a rotary switch, which allows for smooth brightness adjustment and quick mode switching.
Power and Charging
The power source consists of 21700 format batteries: the kit includes several Fenix ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 batteries with a total capacity of 10000 mAh. The specifications also indicate a 2 × 21700 configuration. The flashlight's operating voltage is in the range of 2.8–4.2 V. Batteries can be charged directly in the battery compartment via a USB Type-C input, protected by a cap in the device's head; full charging time is approximately 3.5–4 hours.
Physical Characteristics and Operation
The anodized aluminum body withstands drops from a height of up to 1 m and is resistant to corrosion, which is important when working in humid environments. The IP68 waterproof rating guarantees protection against water and contaminants. Due to its high power, heat dissipation fins are provided on the body for effective cooling after prolonged operation. The flashlight is adapted for one-handed holding; a lanyard hole is located in the tail to additionally secure the device to the wrist.
