Fenix PD36R V2.0 Handheld Flashlight
The Fenix PD36R V2.0 is an improved tactical handheld flashlight from the Fenix PD series, designed for demanding use in tourism, camping, and duty tasks. Compared to the basic PD36R version, the V2.0 version features increased light output, extended beam distance, and longer runtime, while maintaining compact dimensions and a durable body.
Lighting Characteristics
The flashlight is equipped with one Luminus SFT40 white LED with a color temperature of 6500K and a lifespan of approximately 50,000 hours. The smooth reflector creates a distinct central hotspot with minimal side spill, allowing for effective illumination of distant objects. The maximum brightness is 1700 lumens, and the maximum beam distance is 396 meters (39240 cd). The flashlight is equipped with overheat protection: if the internal temperature exceeds 60°C, intelligent electronics reduce brightness for safe operation.

The PD36R V2.0 interface offers 6 lighting modes, including strobe. The minimum Eco mode starts at 5 lumens, and intermediate modes are also available for extended operation.

Control and Mode Memory
Control is combined: a tactical tail switch and a side electronic switch. A half-press of the tail switch provides momentary light, which turns off when released; a full press locks the flashlight in constant mode. A single press of the side switch when the light is on cycles to the next, less powerful mode. Holding the side switch for 0.5 seconds activates the strobe; holding it again returns to constant light. The intelligent memory circuit remembers the last used mode (except strobe) and restores it upon the next power-on.
Power and Charging
The PD36R V2.0 comes with one 21700 Fenix ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 Li-ion battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh, which withstands approximately 800 charge-discharge cycles. The battery's operating voltage is 4.2 V, and the operating current is 3 A. The manufacturer allows the use of 21700-size Li-ion batteries from other manufacturers provided they have a nominal voltage of 3.6 V. Li-ion batteries without a protection board, as well as 18650, 16340, and CR123A size batteries, are incompatible with this device.
The USB Type-C charging port is located in the head of the flashlight under a protective cover and supports fast charging up to 18 W (9V/2A), allowing the built-in battery to be fully charged in approximately 2.5 hours. The charge level indicator automatically activates for 3 seconds each time the flashlight is turned on (works when using a Fenix ARB-L21 21700 battery): solid green light — 100%–85%; flashing green — 85%–50%; solid red — 50%–25%; flashing red — 25%–1%.
Construction and Protection
The body is made of A6061-T6 aluminum with an HAIII anodized finish, providing corrosion protection and damage resistance. The flashlight withstands drops from a height of approximately 1–1.5 meters, has an IP68 waterproof rating (submersible up to 2 meters), and impact resistance up to 1 meter. Dimensions: 140.7 mm (length) × 26.5 mm (head diameter) × 25.5 mm (tail diameter). Weight with battery — 167 g. For comfortable grip, fine knurling is applied to the body, and the titanium pocket clip is removable.
