Fenix LD12R Handheld Flashlight — Compact Assistant for Everyday and Camping Use
The Fenix LD12R EDC flashlight from the Fenix brand combines miniature size with powerful technical characteristics. The body houses two LEDs: a main Luminus SST20 with a color temperature of 6500K and a side SC1818C; the lifespan of both diodes is at least 50,000 hours. The maximum brightness of the main LED is 600 lumens, and the beam distance reaches 186 meters. With the proprietary Fenix AOD-S V2.0 diffuser, the light can be diffused, allowing the LD12R to be used as a camping lamp.

The model has two lighting groups: main and side. A total of 7 modes are available, providing a wide range of brightness and runtime.

The intelligent overheat protection circuit activates when the internal temperature reaches 60°C — in this case, the power is automatically reduced to cool the electronics.
Control Features
The Fenix LD12R is controlled by a tail switch and by rotating the head of the body. To turn on and off — press the tail switch all the way. Changing the mode group is done by rotating the head of the body when the flashlight is on: returning the head to its original position activates the next lighting group. Changing brightness within a group — a short half-press of the tail switch. The model has a memory function that remembers the last mode of the main group and activates it upon the next power-on.
Power Source and Charge Indicator
The LD12R operates on one 14500 size battery (a Fenix ARB-L14-800 battery with a nominal voltage of 3.6V is included). The flashlight is also compatible with Ni-MH or alkaline AA batteries (1.2V / 1.5V). To check the charge level, loosen the head of the structure and press the switch: the indicator will light up for 3 seconds and show the charge status — solid green: 100%–85%; flashing green: 85%–50%; solid red: 50%–25%; flashing red: 25%–1%. When the charge is critically low, simply connect a USB cable to the built-in Type-C port — full charging time is about 2 hours.
Physical Parameters and Design
The flashlight has ultra-compact dimensions of 121 x 22 x 19 mm and weighs only 74 g with the battery. The body is made of metal on a CNC machine and protected by HAIII hard anodizing, which increases wear resistance and corrosion resistance. The LD12R can withstand drops from a height of up to 1 meter. The level of protection against moisture and dust is IP68: the flashlight continues to work after immersion to a depth of 2 meters for 30 minutes. The design of the tail allows the device to be placed in a vertical position, and the built-in magnetic clip secures the flashlight to metal surfaces.
