Although the flashlight has compact dimensions, its technical characteristics have been significantly enhanced: maximum brightness is 1700 lumens, and beam distance reaches 273 meters, making the E28R V2.0 effective for long-distance illumination.
LED and Beam
The Luminus SST40 diode is responsible for light generation, with a color temperature of 6500K (cool white), which provides better beam distance compared to warm light. A smooth metal reflector forms a concentrated beam, convenient for illuminating specific objects.
Operating Modes
The flashlight is equipped with 7 modes, divided into three groups (A, B, C). The characteristics of the modes are listed below:
- Turbo: 1700 lm – 18588 cd – 273 meters – 2 hr 10 min;
- High: 600 lm – 6717 cd – 164 meters – 2 hr 50 min;
- Medium: 150 lm – 1618 cd – 80 meters – 17 hr 15 min;
- Low: 50 lm – 512 cd – 45 meters – 36 hr 50 min;
- Eco: 5 lm – 57 cd – 15 meters – 260 hours;
- Strobe: 1700 lm;
- Control Button Backlight: 1 lm.
The runtime in Turbo mode is given as a total, taking into account power reduction when heated: if the internal electronics temperature rises to 60°C, overheating protection is triggered; after cooling, Turbo is available again.
Controls
Control is performed by a single electronic switch in the head of the flashlight. The model has an intuitive interface, including last mode memory (for all Group A brightness levels except Turbo) and electronic lockout.
- On / Off: press and hold the switch for 0.5 seconds;
- Switching Between Groups: the flashlight defaults to Group A; to switch to Group B — press and hold for 1.2 seconds; to exit Group B — single click; to activate Group C — triple click when the light is off; to exit Group C — press and hold the switch (the flashlight will turn off);
- Switching Group A Modes: a single click when the light is on changes modes in the order Eco → Low → Medium → High → Turbo;
- Group C Backlight Modes: constant red → constant green → red pulses → green pulses.
Power Source and Charging
The flashlight comes with a proprietary ARB-L18 18650 battery with a capacity of 3400 mAh; alternatively, a disposable CR123A battery can be used. The built-in USB Type-C port in the head of the body provides charging in approximately 3 hours from the moment the cable is connected. During charging, the indicator in the button glows red; after full charge, it glows green. The indicator can be manually activated by a single click when the light is off to check the charge status:
- Green (constant): 100% - 85%;
- Green (flashing): 85% - 50%;
- Red (constant): 50% - 25%;
- Red (flashing): 25% - 1%.
Note: color indication only works with the proprietary ARB-L18 battery.
Materials, Protection, and Design
The body is made of anodized aluminum, machined on a CNC machine. There is an O-ring that protects the electronics from moisture, sand, and dust. The body's protection level is IP68, impact resistance is up to 1 meter. The anodized coating increases resistance to corrosion and aggressive environments. A magnet is built into the tail of the body for attachment to metal surfaces; a removable clip is also provided for carrying on a belt or pocket.
