Flashlight description

The Fenix HM62-T V2.0 magma headlamp is a lightweight and durable solution from the Fenix brand for trail running, sports training, and hiking. The model combines high brightness with compactness: the magnesium alloy body provides impact resistance from drops up to 2 m and a total weight of only 125 g with the battery. The "magma" color design distinguishes the device from analogues, and the head strap with reflective elements features a patented length adjustment system and a built-in whistle for signaling in emergency situations.

LEDs and light characteristics

The Fenix HM62-T V2.0 uses 3 LEDs: one white Luminus SST40 (4500–5000K) and two red 2835. The lifespan of each LED is at least 50,000 hours. At maximum power, the flashlight provides up to 1200 lm and reaches a beam distance of 150 m; in low mode, autonomy reaches up to 280 hours, and in some modes — up to 11.5 days of operation.

Operating modes

The flashlight has 6 modes: 4 white light modes and 2 red light modes, divided into groups for convenient control to avoid confusion during quick mode changes.

White lighting group

The flashlight is equipped with a built-in overheating protection circuit: when the internal temperature reaches 60°C, the electronics reduce brightness to protect the components, so the stated values for the highest modes take into account operation in conjunction with reduced illumination modes.

Control and lockout

Control is implemented with a single textured button for reliable grip, even with gloves. Power on/off — press and hold the button for 5 seconds. Switching light groups: pressing and holding for 5 seconds when the flashlight is off activates the white light group; double-clicking when the device is off switches to the red light group. Modes are changed with a single press. There is a lockout function (press and hold the button for 3 seconds when the flashlight is off), unlocking — in the same way.

Power and charge indication

The power source is an 18650 battery (ARB-L18-3400U V2.0 included), which has no "memory effect" and operates stably in a temperature range from -35°C to 45°C; the manufacturer allows replacement with CR123A batteries. The battery is charged via the built-in USB Type-C port (cable included) in approximately 3 hours when fully discharged. The button has an LED charge level indicator: constant green — 100%–80%, flashing green — 80%–50%, constant red — 50%–20%, flashing red — 20%–1%. The color indication can be activated by a quick press when the flashlight is off.

Materials and protection

The body is made of wear-resistant magnesium alloy, which guarantees strength and resistance to deformation and aggressive environments. The IP68 protection level allows the flashlight to be used in rain, snow, and withstand submersion up to 2 m for ≤ 4 hours without loss of functionality.
