Businesses must be ready for future expansion: with the advent of new multi-speed devices, their wired network must expand its reach and capabilities to support speeds beyond 1 Gigabit. The IEEE 802.3bz standard paved the way for new speeds of 2.5 Gigabit and 5 Gigabit in addition to the previous 1 Gigabit and 10 Gigabit per second. New servers, workstations, storage devices, and motherboards come with 802.3bz (NBASE-T) Multi-Gigabit Ethernet support, which is 2.5-5 times faster, up to 100 meters with CAT5e/CAT6 cables.
This is why NETGEAR has released new multi-gigabit Smart switches with 10G copper/fiber ports. Each port automatically detects the speed required by the connected device and provides the appropriate speed. Unlike conventional 10-Gigabit switches that will only provide a 1-Gigabit connection to any device requiring less than 10 Gigabits, the MS510TXPP provides the exact speed needed without downgrading. In addition, the new multi-gigabit ports of the NETGEAR switch can connect with standard CAT5e Ethernet cables without the need to upgrade to CAT6, reducing connection costs and hassle.
Access, Aggregation: You can now connect your computers, printers, and routers/firewalls to a 1G network and aggregate new Multi-Gigabit Ethernet devices on a single switch, all at line speed. 10G copper and fiber ports are ready for local servers and storage or high-speed aggregation to your network core.
