Application

• Apply the tourniquet to the injured limb 5–7 cm above the bleeding site. If the wound is not visible, apply the tourniquet as high as possible on the limb.
• Tighten the tourniquet firmly by pulling the end of the strap, and secure the self-adhesive tape around the limb. The tourniquet should be tight enough so that three fingertips cannot pass between the strap and the limb.
• Twist the windlass until arterial bleeding stops and the peripheral pulse disappears.
• Secure the windlass in the clip.
• Pass the remaining strap through the clip and over the windlass, secure with white tape, and indicate the application time. Prepare the injured person for transport.

Note: The blue training tourniquet is intended for training only and is not suitable for use in combat or emergency situations as a combat hemostatic device.
