Thus, the K-5 armor plate withstands impacts from both light LPS-type bullets and 7.62 x 39 armor-piercing incendiary bullets, making it effective protection against most bullets used in AKM/AK-47 automatic systems. However, it is not designed to guarantee deflection of special armor-piercing ammunition with hardened cores.
