Description of Vitals Smart 6.0 Charger

The Vitals Smart 6.0 charger is a new addition to the line of intelligent chargers. It is designed for charging lead-acid batteries in cars, motorcycles, tractors, boats, lawnmowers, snowmobiles, jet skis, and other industrial and household equipment. The product is powered by a single-phase AC mains with a voltage of 230 V and a frequency of 50 Hz.

The charger belongs to the "intelligent" inverter-type chargers and is intended for stationary use in parking lots, garages, etc. It can also be used in "field conditions" if portable power sources are available.

The product is made as a single electronic inverter unit equipped with a microprocessor that assesses the battery's condition, allowing for efficient charging and extending its service life.

The inverter unit converts the 230V, 50Hz single-phase AC mains current into a highly stable DC output. The principle of inverter conversion is based on the properties of high-frequency current to transmit high-density energy with small conductor and electronic component dimensions. The product's design became possible and is based on the emergence and use of sufficiently powerful insulated-gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs). The product's electronic units reduce the input mains voltage, increase its frequency from 50 Hz to above 30 kHz, and generate a stable DC output current.

Inverter-type products, unlike traditional transformer-based rectifiers with diodes:

• do not cause voltage surges in the electrical network during operation, allowing their unhindered use in everyday life;
• do not have charging current dependence on input mains current fluctuations;
• do not affect the operation of other networked household appliances;
• incorporate protective functions in their circuit designs (against short circuits of terminals, reverse polarity, overheating, low power supply voltage, overcharge);
• have compact dimensions and weight, which increases convenience and mobility during operation.
