While holding the "MEASURE" (scan/measure) button, slowly move the thermometer towards and away from the forehead until the device emits a rapid beep and the indicator light flashes; then release the button. You will hear a short beep — the measurement is complete, and the result will appear on the screen. Note: a repeating beep means the correct measurement distance has been selected.
• 6. The device automatically turns off after 60 seconds of inactivity to save battery life.
