Testing and Standards

The MILITEX ballistic insert has been tested against 9×18 mm pistol rounds (341±1 m/s) with a spherical steel non-heat-treated core in a copper-plated steel jacket, cartridge 57-N-181s (Makarov pistol), as well as 9×19 mm Luger rounds (401±1 m/s) in a full metal jacket with a soft lead core. Tests were conducted according to clauses 6.1.2, 7.1.1, and Table 1 of DSTU 8782:2018 «Personal Protective Equipment. Body Armor», which corresponds to Class 1 protection requirements. The maximum depth of blunt trauma deformation is 20.0 mm. The specified protection class applies to standard samples measuring 500×500 mm; the actual depth of deformation may vary depending on the shape and size of the insert.
