The presented Mosin rifle dummy is a detailed replica for training and modeling from the manufacturer ZBROIA. The rifle barrel is rifled: four grooves spiraling from left up to right. Early models had trapezoidal rifling, later the shape became a simple rectangle, as the bullet metal does not foul the barrel walls. The nominal caliber, measured between opposing lands, is 7.62 mm (3 lines); actual measurements of various samples show 7.62–7.66 mm. The groove caliber is 7.94–7.96 mm.

At the rear of the barrel is a smooth-walled chamber for holding the cartridge during firing; it is connected to the rifled part via the bullet lead. A factory stamp is applied above the chamber, allowing identification of the manufacturer and year of rifle production. The receiver, which houses the bolt, is permanently screwed to the threaded barrel shank.

Attached to the receiver are the magazine box with its feeding mechanism, the interrupter-ejector, and the trigger mechanism. The magazine box is designed to hold four cartridges and contains the side plates, a corner piece, the trigger guard, and a cover with the mounted feeding mechanism. Cartridges in the magazine are arranged in a single row so that the rims do not interfere with feeding, which results in a magazine shape unusual to modern perception.

The interrupter-ejector is controlled by the bolt's movement and separates cartridges fed from the magazine box to the receiver, preventing stoppages due to cartridge rim interlocking; it also acts as an ejector for spent casings. Before the 1930 modernization, the interrupter was a monolithic part; after modernization, it consists of a blade with an ejector lug and a spring part.
