The manufacturing technology of universal external AGM (absorbent glass mat) batteries involves the presence of an absorbent fiberglass separator inside the battery. Batteries of this type perfectly handle increased loads.

Advantages of AGM battery:

Features of AGM battery production

Inside an AGM battery, porous insulating separators of thin fiberglass are placed. The separators and electrode plates are tightly pressed against each other. Thus, there is no free liquid electrolyte between the battery plates, as it is contained in the separator and in the active part of the electrodes.

The amount of liquid electrolyte is dosed so that small pores are filled with acid, and large ones ensure gas circulation.

The battery design has an improved gas recombination system – oxygen and hydrogen, formed as a result of chemical processes, do not have time to evaporate beyond the sealed casing before condensation.

How does a DZM battery differ from a conventional lead-acid battery?

DZM batteries are designed to operate with a higher starting current than AGM batteries, making them an ideal solution for boats, electric bicycles, and other electric traction vehicles.

How to avoid battery capacity loss in conditions of frequent power outages?

Two important rules for caring for AGM, GEL, MG batteries:

  1. Do not frequently discharge the battery by more than 30% of its capacity (consider this when calculating battery capacity)
  2. After discharge, the battery must be fully charged with a current of 1/10 of the capacity for 10 hours

IMPORTANT! If a group of several batteries connected in parallel or in series is used, then:

  • all batteries must have the same capacity,
  • be of the same type AGM, GEL or MG,
  • have the same voltage, the same number of charge/discharge cycles,
  • be from the same batch of the same brand.
