FireProtect 2 (Heat/CO) is a wireless fire detector that detects temperature increases. It is designed for indoor installation and operates as part of the Ajax system. The detector is equipped with a siren for audible notification of alarms and events.
FireProtect 2 is available in two modifications:
- with non-replaceable batteries (has SB in the name), which last 10 years;
- with replaceable batteries (has RB in the name), which last up to 7 years.
The detector operates as part of the Ajax system, communicating with the hub via the secure Jeweller radio protocol. The communication range with the hub in the absence of obstacles is up to 1700 meters.
The detector is always active, so it responds to fire 24/7, regardless of the system's armed mode.
FireProtect 2 is protected by a tamper. It monitors the removal of the detector from the SmartBracket mounting panel.
Ajax automation devices can react to a FireProtect 2 alarm and perform user-defined actions using automation scenarios.
Two built-in A1 class thermistors are responsible for detecting a sharp rise and exceeding the temperature threshold in FireProtect 2. They signal an alarm if a rapid temperature increase or a static temperature between +54°C and +65°C is detected.
FireProtect 2 will report an exceedance of the permissible temperature threshold as soon as its value exceeds +64°C. The detector will report a sharp temperature increase if the indicator rises by 10°C within one minute. If the temperature indicator sharply increases by 20°C or more, the detector immediately signals an alarm.
The Test/Mute button allows you to:
- start a detector performance test;
- mute the detector's alarm or the synchronized alarm of all fire detectors in the system for 10 minutes;
- mute the sound and LED indication for 12 hours.
All FireProtect 2 line fire detectors support the synchronized alarm function. This function activates the built-in sirens of all fire detectors in the system as soon as at least one fire detector registers an alarm.
The Ajax system can transmit alarms and events to the PRO Desktop monitoring application, as well as to a central monitoring station (CMS) in SurGard (Contact ID), SIA DC-09 (ADM-CID), ADEMCO 685, and other protocols.
