Description

Firebird FH924-GY Gray Folding Knife

Firebird FH924 — a compact and reliable folding knife for everyday carry (EDC), designed for household, urban, and field tasks. This model combines simplicity of design and functionality, making it convenient for both daily use and outdoor activities.

The 65 mm blade features a "wharncliffe" shape, which provides a straight cutting edge due to the sharp taper from the spine to the tip. This shape allows the entire length of the blade to be used for cutting, and the thin tip is suitable for precise work and scraping. The blade material is D2 tool steel, known for its increased resistance to abrasive wear due to its high chromium content; a carbon content of about 1.5% ensures high compressive strength. The blade is hardened to approximately 60 HRC, and the spine thickness is 3.4 mm — this guarantees that the blade will withstand intense loads without deformation.

For quick opening, there is a through-hole at the base of the blade, allowing the knife to be opened with either the right or left hand. It is secured in the open position by a Liner Lock — a reliable mechanism with a locking plate designed to withstand loads up to 70 kg; the lock does not require complex maintenance, it is sufficient to protect the mechanism from dirt, sawdust, and sand.

The handle is equipped with G10 fiberglass laminate scales — a wear-resistant composite material with a rough surface for better grip. G10 has good heat resistance, does not crack when dropped, and does not change color under the influence of salt water, acids, or oils.

The model's dimensions are very compact: overall length in the open position — 160 mm, blade length — 65 mm, handle length — 95 mm, blade thickness at the spine — 3.4 mm. When folded, the knife has a length of 95 mm (9.5 cm) and weighs only 84 g, including the two-position clip, making it easy to place the tool in a pocket, car glove compartment, or attach to a belt.
