The Civivi Buster folding knife, designed in collaboration with Malaysian designer Snecx Tan, combines understated aesthetics with deliberately thoughtful ergonomics. The locking mechanism is implemented via the Superlock system, where a movable spring-loaded pin operates longitudinally, resembling the Axis Lock principle but with a reinforced construction for resistance to high loads. Materials and Finish
The blade is made of premium Nitro-V steel with a hardness of approximately 58-60 HRC, ensuring a balance of corrosion resistance, strength, and long-lasting sharpness. A partial black coating on the blade accentuates its shape and protects the surface, while the blade finish is satin. The handle is made of G10 composite material on steel liners: the texture provides a reliable non-slip grip, the material does not absorb moisture or odors, does not crack upon impact, and remains stable with temperature changes.
Design Features
The blade profile is Sheepsfoot with a lowered spine towards the tip, which guarantees predictable blade behavior during cutting and makes it safer when working near fingers. For additional control, a finger rest is provided on the spine. Opening is done using a steel thumb stud located on both sides of the blade, and the pivot assembly is equipped with ceramic bearings, ensuring smooth and stable blade action.
A long through-hole is visible on the handle, which reduces the weight of the structure, and a steel clip is located at the tail, fixed in the Tip-Up position and can be mounted on either the right or left side for convenient carrying.
