Description of the Civivi Orthrus C20037B-1 Knife
The Civivi Orthrus C20037B-1 knife is a tactical fixed-blade tool from the Civivi brand, developed in collaboration with renowned designer Tony Sentmanat. Its unique concept allows the blade to be set in two positions: a classic straight position or at an angle of approximately 45° in a karambit style, offering additional tactical application scenarios. Switching the blade position is done by simply pressing a button, making the mechanism fast and reliable. This unconventional approach earned the model the "Most Innovative Design" award at the international Blade Show 2022.
The blade is made of Nitro-V steel with a hardness of 58-60 HRC. Nitro-V combines chromium and carbon with added vanadium and nitrogen, which increases the material's strength and corrosion resistance. The blade's finish — black stonewash — provides a matte look and reduces the visibility of fingerprints and minor scratches. The blade features a double-edged grind and a fine tip for improved penetration; part of the edge has a serrated section for cutting fibrous materials, such as cords and straps.
The model's dimensions and ergonomics are selected for comfortable use: the blade length is 95.5 mm with a thickness of 3 mm; the total length of the knife is 204.8 mm. The handle is made of impact-resistant black G10 fiberglass with a ribbed surface for a secure grip; the handle length is 109.3 mm, the handle thickness is 14 mm, and the handle tail has a wide lanyard hole. Despite its fixed-blade design, the knife's weight — 138.2 g — makes it comfortable for field carry.
The knife comes with a rigid Kydex sheath, ensuring secure retention and comfortable carrying. The sheath is equipped with a drainage hole and a T-clip designed by Bob Terzuola, adding practicality for use in hiking, camping, and tactical tasks.
