Description of the Civivi Circulus C22012-2 Knife

The Civivi Circulus C22012-2 knife from the Civivi brand is a stylish and functional EDC accessory, created with a similar design to the Minimis model and a slightly pointed blade tip. The design was developed by Ostap Hel, a renowned Polish master and designer of custom knives and gear. He started by drawing and being fascinated with medieval weapons, apprenticed in a gunsmith's workshop, mastered traditional technologies, and then transitioned to using CNC machines in his own workshop. His approach combines classic geometry, smooth transitions, and the golden ratio principle with experiments in forms and functionality.

The model features a skeletonized handle shape, which significantly reduces the overall weight of the knife — it is so light that it is almost imperceptible in hand. The design is optimized for daily carry and operational use: the chain is extremely strong and lightweight, adding reliability when carried, and it comes with a lanyard with a branded CIVIVI bead and a paracord string to help prevent losing the tool.

The knife is made of high-carbon stainless steel 10Cr15CoMoV, which is similar in characteristics to VG-10. The vanadium content ensures good wear resistance and stable edge retention. Depending on the heat treatment, the steel can have a hardness in the range of 58–64 HRC. High chromium and molybdenum content increases the material's corrosion resistance, which is why this steel is often used for kitchen knives. Sharpening this steel is of medium difficulty.

The blade has a Stonewash finish, which helps conceal minor scratches and makes the surface more durable during use. The thin blade thickness combined with Flat Grind ensures excellent edge geometry and high cutting efficiency, which is especially important for everyday and outdoor tasks.

The knife comes with a high-quality Kydex sheath, which protects the blade and allows the knife to be securely attached to a belt or pocket edge thanks to its clip.
