The Fenix PD36TAC combines tactical and "duty" operating modes, allowing for quick one-handed switching between modes. The patented dual-function tactical button provides momentary activation, sustained press for duty modes, and quick press for mode selection. There is also a lockout function to prevent accidental activation and reverse polarity protection for the battery.
Operating Modes
"Duty" mode group:
- Turbo: up to 3000 lumens, 1 hour 30 minutes runtime (reduced due to overheating protection), beam distance — 274 m, intensity ~18700 cd.
- High: 1000 lumens, 3 hours 15 minutes runtime, 160 m range, intensity ~6400 cd.
- Mid: 350 lumens, 10 hours 10 minutes runtime, 92 m range, intensity ~2100 cd.
- Low: 150 lumens, 18 hours 45 minutes runtime, 56–59 m range, intensity ~900 cd.
- Eco: 30 lumens, up to 160 hours runtime, 25 m range, intensity ~160 cd.
- Strobe: 2000 lumens (signaling mode).
"Tactical" mode group:
- Max Tactical: 2000 lumens, 3 hours 10 minutes runtime, 225 m range, intensity ~12600 cd.
- Strobe Tactical: 2000 lumens (for momentary blinding/signal).
Note: Measurements were taken under laboratory conditions at a temperature of ~21±3 °C and humidity of 50–80%. Actual performance depends on operating conditions. Runtime in "Turbo" mode is indicated considering automatic brightness reduction due to overheating.
To lock the flashlight when it is on, turn the mechanical switch to the middle position — the tactical button will be disabled, and the selected mode will be fixed. If the flashlight is off, turning the switch to the middle position will lock the buttons, and the device cannot be used. To unlock, turn the switch to "tactical" or "duty" position.
The Fenix PD36TAC has overheating protection: if the temperature exceeds ~60 °C, brightness is automatically reduced to dissipate heat; full brightness is available again after cooling.
Physical Parameters and Materials
The body is made of durable A6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum with a premium Type III hard-anodized finish, increasing resistance to scratches and abrasive wear. The flashlight withstands drops from 1 m without damage, has an IP68 protection rating, and can be submerged up to 2 meters. Dimensions: 140×26.5×25.4 mm, weight — 92 g without battery.
