KRON ANTIork mount for AKS-74U (disassemblable) — overview and features

The KRON side mount (disassemblable) is designed for installation on Kalashnikov assault rifles not equipped with a side rail. This is a universal field sniper mount KRON ANTIork, allowing the installation of red-dot, optical, and thermal imaging sights, as well as flashlights and laser designators on AKS-74U and Vulcan TK rifles.

Design and materials

The mount is made of 65G steel and duralumin, which ensures strength and light weight. The surface is covered with a polymer weather-resistant anti-glare matte black paint, which is especially important when used with optical sights. The design consists of a base, which is installed on the rifle, and a wing, which holds the sight and is attached to the base. Fixation is carried out in two support points: under the standard grip with a screw and under the magazine latch.

Installation, compatibility, and operation

No modification of the rifle is required for mount installation; installation time is approximately 5-10 minutes. Tools needed: screwdriver and hammer. Standard sighting devices are retained and can be freely used with the installed mount. With the KRON installed, full and partial disassembly of the rifle, cleaning, and clearing malfunctions during firing are possible. When removing and re-installing the KRON wing (by unscrewing and screwing in the screws), zeroing is maintained.

The length of the Picatinny rail in this U-shaped form is 150 mm. The distance and height from the shooter's eye to the sight are optimal for quick and accurate aiming. The weight of the mount and sight is evenly distributed on both hands, which increases comfort during prolonged use. Fixation on the weapon is permanent, compatibility with the Weaver/Picatinny standard, allowing the installation of a wide range of sights and accessories.
