This process actively crushes and mixes the topsoil, destroys weeds, incorporates crop residues and fertilizers, levels the surface, and creates optimal porosity and soil structure, which enhances its biological and biochemical activity. Rotary tillers are used both in open fields and greenhouses, on flat surfaces and raised beds, and are employed in forest nurseries and landscape gardening.
