Who is this product suitable for?

The SGR 80 diesel generator is ideal for facilities requiring high and stable power and backup power at 230/380 V. Examples of applications include:

  • Residential buildings
  • Government and commercial institutions
  • Production facilities
  • Hospitals
  • Schools
  • Agriculture
  • Shops
  • Offices

Installation and Operation Instructions

To ensure safe and long-lasting operation of the generator, adhere to the installation and operation requirements. Installation, maintenance, and repair work should only be performed by qualified personnel.

Installation

  • 1. It is recommended to install the generator on a special foundation at least 200 mm high; the edges of the foundation should extend at least 150 mm beyond the frame; the mass of the foundation should be twice the mass of the generator.
  • 2. To avoid flooding, raise the unit 100 mm above ground level.
  • 3. Outdoors, the generator should be placed at a safe distance from buildings and underground utilities, with lightning protection provided.
  • 4. When installing indoors, observe distances: from walls — at least 1200 mm, from the highest point to the ceiling — at least 1500 mm; ensure ventilation and exhaust gas removal; the exit from the room must lead outside.
  • 5. Reliable grounding of the unit is mandatory.

Operation

  • 1. Before starting, check the fuel, oil, and coolant levels.
  • 2. During operation, the casing must be tightly closed.
  • 3. Use a high-quality electrical cable that matches the unit's power.
  • 4. Ensure no foreign objects are on moving parts.
  • 5. Check coolant and oil levels every 6–8 hours of operation.
  • 6. Do not overload the generator beyond its permissible power.
  • 7. Do not operate without load for more than 30 minutes.
  • 8. Avoid prolonged downtime of the unit.

Safety Precautions

  • 1. Do not store flammable materials near the generator.
  • 2. Smoking near the unit is strictly prohibited.
  • 3. Do not refuel the generator while it is running.
  • 4. Do not touch the equipment during operation.
  • 5. During maintenance, press the emergency stop button to prevent accidental auto-start.
  • 6. Be aware of the danger of exhaust gases — work in well-ventilated areas and avoid inhaling them.

Care and Maintenance

Regular maintenance will ensure stable operation of the SGR 80. Daily visual inspection, scheduled inspection of mechanical components, maintaining a log of technical inspections, and contacting a service center for preventive work are recommended.

Advantages of the SGR 80 Model

  • Rated power of 58 kW (72 kVA) for continuous power supply.
  • Supports two voltage types (230/380 V) for various consumers.
  • Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) maintains stable output.
  • High-quality windings withstand elevated temperatures.
  • Auto-start ensures instant connection when the grid goes down.
  • Economical fuel consumption and low noise with standard sound insulation.
  • Reliability in various weather conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long can a diesel generator run continuously?

The duration of operation depends on operating conditions, load, and technical condition; generally, continuous use from several hours to a day or more is possible, provided correct maintenance and fuel availability.

How often should the oil be changed?

Oil change is usually recommended approximately every 500 hours of operation or about 6 months, but this may vary depending on the intensity of use.

Why can't fuel be added during operation?

Refueling during operation is dangerous due to the risk of fuel spilling onto hot components and potential ignition, so refueling should only be done after the engine has stopped.

Which generator is better for home — single-phase or three-phase?

If your home does not have 380 V equipment or it is rarely used, a single-phase unit is more appropriate; for production facilities and large objects, it is better to choose three-phase models, like the SGR 80.

What to choose — a diesel or gasoline generator?

Diesel generators are more durable and powerful, suitable for long-term intensive use, while gasoline generators are cheaper and appropriate for occasional low-power use.
