Behind the plate, an EVA damper with a thickness of 8 mm and a density of 80 kgm³ is installed. Unlike dampers made of foamed polyethylene or rubber with a density of 30–35 kgm³, our damper hardly deforms over time and more effectively reduces behind-armor blunt trauma (visceral trauma). • Additionally withstands AK-74 assault rifles, 5.45 mm cartridges — 7N22 and 7N6M bullets.

Note: Since 1989, instead of LPS, the ST-M2 cartridge with a core hardness of 65 HRC, analogous to the B-32 bullet for Class 6 protection, is sometimes specified.

Ceramic plates are usually single-use and require immediate replacement after impact, have greater behind-armor deformation, which increases the risk of rib fractures and internal organ injuries without an additional ballistic package.
