UKRTAC Class 1 Ballistic Side Protection by Specprom

UKRTAC Class 1 Ballistic Side Protection is a soft ballistic package of Ukrainian production, designed to expand the protection area when used with Ukrtac plate carriers. It is inserted into the cummerbund and provides additional side body protection. For self-installation, it is recommended to place the softer part towards the body and the harder part towards the potential threat.

Materials and Construction

Ballistic package material: ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). The ballistic component is in a vacuum package, which extends its service life and reduces the hydro-shock effect when wet. The 8 mm thick damper reduces backface deformation.

Certification and Protection Level

Complies with the requirements of DSTU 8782:2018 "Personal protective equipment. Body armor." and belongs to protection class 1. Also complies with IIIA NIJ 0101.06 standard. The depth of backface deformation does not exceed 22 mm.

Bullet Resistance Testing

The UKRTAC armor package withstood firing with the following ammunition: 9x18 mm pistol bullet at a speed of 345±1 m/s, spherical head part with a steel non-thermally hardened core in a steel jacket, tombac-plated (57-N-181s cartridges, Makarov pistol); and 9x19 Luger bullet at a speed of 409±1 m/s in a full metal jacket of copper alloy with a hemispherical nose and a soft (lead) core. These results confirm the declared Class 1 protection level.

Care and Safety Recommendations

The armor package is in vacuum packaging for long-term storage. Do not dry on surfaces or in conditions where the temperature exceeds 80°C (e.g., near open flames, potbelly stoves, etc.). Adhering to simple operating rules will extend the product's service life and preserve its ballistic properties.
