Ballistic Protection Package 250x300 mm — DSTU Class 1 (Specprom)

The UKRTAC soft ballistic package from Specprom is designed to enhance the protective characteristics of body armor or as a standalone insert in ammunition, backpacks, or other equipment. The package is designed to protect against fragments and short-barreled weapon bullets and can be used as a trauma pad under the standard armor plate. When installing independently, orient the softer part of the package towards the body and the harder side towards the potential threat.

Construction and Materials

The ballistic component is in a vacuum package, which significantly extends its service life and reduces the risk of hydrostatic shock when wet. Material: ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). The trauma pad for reducing backface deformation is 8 mm thick. Package dimensions: 250x300x15 mm. Protection area: 7 dm². Weight: 0.4 kg. Ballistic Characteristics and Testing

The package complies with protection class 1 according to DSTU 8782:2018 and corresponds to IIIA NIJ 0101.06. UKRTAC withstood firing with a 9x18 pistol bullet at a speed of 345±1 m/s (spherical bullet part with a steel non-heat-treated core, cartridge 57-N-181s, Makarov pistol) and a 9x19 Luger bullet at a speed of 409±1 m/s (full metal jacket made of copper alloy with a hemispherical nose and a soft lead core), according to the requirements of DSTU 8782:2018. The backface deformation depth did not exceed 22 mm.

Operating Recommendations and Warnings

Do not dry the package on surfaces or in conditions where the temperature exceeds 80°C (proximity to open flames, potbelly stoves, etc.). Vacuum packaging and proper installation significantly increase the product's effectiveness and service life. It is recommended to store and transport the product in a dry state, avoiding mechanical damage from bending and compression, which can affect ballistic properties.
