Structure and ballistic solutions

The front of the plate is covered with Ukrainian ballistic felt, laminated with a PVC film layer for moisture protection. The felt is cut to precise dimensions and pressed for several hours to ensure reliable adhesion to the metal part of the plate; it does not delaminate even after multiple shots.

Advantages in backface deformation

Reinforced steel plates do not have significant backface deformation. Unlike ceramic plates, which are often single-use and require immediate replacement after impact, an armor steel plate can withstand multiple shots and evenly distribute bullet energy across its surface, reducing the risk of severe internal injuries (broken ribs, organ damage).

Ballistic testing and certification

Each armor plate has a unique number and production date. Batches of plates undergo testing in a certified laboratory for compliance with DSTU 8782:2018 under normal conditions. Based on the results, a certificate for the batch is issued, valid for 6 months from the date of issue, along with a test report; these documents are published on each product page.

Guaranteed resistance according to DSTU (Class 4)

• SVD rifle: 7.62-mm rifle cartridge 57-N-323s (LPS) in a steel jacket with a steel core. Bullet velocity — 850±15 m/s.
• AK-74 assault rifle: 5.45 mm cartridge, 7N10s (PP) bullet in a steel jacket with a steel heat-strengthened core. Bullet velocity — 910±15 m/s.
• Note: since 1989, the LPS cartridge has been replaced by a cartridge with a ST-M2 bullet with a 65 HRC hardness core, which is an analogue of the B-32 bullet for Class 6 protection.
• Additionally withstands: AK-74, 5.45 mm cartridge, 7N6M bullet.
• In combination with a soft ballistic package of Level 2, the plate withstands AKM 7.62×39, 57-BZ-231 (armor-piercing incendiary) bullet with a steel heat-strengthened core, velocity — 745±15 m/s.
