HEALER GEL MEDICAL® is made on an alcohol-free basis, transparent, elastic, soft, and easily conforms to the contour of the affected area. The dressing does not stick to the wound, is easily removed during dressing changes, does not cause maceration, and creates a barrier against external contamination. Hydrogel properties stabilize osmotic pressure in tissues, maintain an optimal moist microclimate, promote granulation, epithelization, and autolytic debridement of the wound surface, ensure oxygen access to tissues, and thereby accelerate healing.

The antimicrobial action of PHMB is effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, as well as aerobic and anaerobic strains, including hospital strains resistant to antibiotics. The dressing demonstrates activity against microorganisms such as Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Streptococcus pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella spp., Neisseria gonorrhoeae, as well as against some herpes viruses and HIV. It has antifungal activity against Aspergillus and yeast-like fungi (Candida albicans, Candida tropicalis, Candida krusei) and dermatophytes, including microflora resistant to chemotherapeutic agents. The dressing effectively prevents infection of wounds and burns and activates regeneration processes.

Scope of application

• Acute uninfected and infected wounds: post-traumatic injuries (scratches, lacerations, stab wounds, incised wounds, bites, crush wounds), postoperative wounds, treatment of wound surfaces and sutures.
• Chronic uninfected and infected wounds: diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, trophic ulcers, skin lesions in oncological diseases, skin damage in eczema and neurodermatitis.
• Thermal and chemical burns of I–III degrees.

Method of application

Before applying the dressing, the area around the wound should be thoroughly cleaned and treated with HEALER MEDICAL® antiseptic solution for wound treatment and healing or another suitable antiseptic according to the instructions. The size of the dressing should be chosen so that its edges extend 2–3 cm beyond the affected area. The dressing is fixed with a bandage or other suitable dressing material. Repeated dressing changes are performed according to the clinical situation and doctor's instructions.

General safety instructions

Do not use in case of excessive wound moisture or significant exudate. Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the components of the dressing. Avoid contact of the gel with the mucous membranes of the eyes. For external use only. Keep out of reach of children.

Composition

Active substance: polyhexamethylene biguanide hydrochloride (PHMB) — 0.1%. Excipients: dexpanthenol, polyethylene glycol, agar-agar, glycerin, polyvinylpyrrolidone, purified water.

Form of release

Hydrogel dressing in the form of a sheet approximately 2.5 mm (±0.5 mm) thick, placed in individual blister packaging (corex) and in a three-layer low-density polyethylene (PELD) bag with a pile effect, which protects the product from external influences. The bag is hermetically sealed. The product is sterile.

Store in a dark place at a temperature from +2 °C to +35 °C.
