Cobra S Plastic Evacuation Drag Litter
The litter allows for classic evacuation by carrying it by the handles (three handles on each side and one on each end). It can also be used as a drag litter – to pull the injured person over ground/snow/sand like a sled. The litter features a dynamic evacuation strap 2.4 m long. This means:
- If one person is pulling, the strap is worn like backpack shoulder straps and allows for turning in all directions.
- If two people are pulling, the strap is worn across each person's chest and allows them to move at different distances from each other, which reduces the risk of shrapnel injury.
- If a maximally long strap is needed, the strap can be pulled to one side (by default, it is centered as 2 straps), creating a single strap 3.8 m long. We received feedback about rescuing an injured person from under fire, where comrades threw him the litter and pulled him out using this strap.
The injured person is immobilized as if in a cocoon. Arms, legs, and head are secured and do not drag on the ground. The plastic creates a rigid base and allows for transporting the injured person in a horizontal position, which is important for spinal and pelvic injuries.
