HEALER® GEL Wound and Burn Healing Gel — a ready-to-use water-based gel designed for cleaning, moisturizing, and preventing contamination of wounds of various origins. The product is manufactured by HEALER Medical (brand: Healer), packaged in a 50 ml bottle. HEALER® GEL effectively removes necrotic tissues, fibrin, and biofilms, which accelerates granulation and epithelialization processes and eliminates unpleasant wound odor.

Indications for Use

The gel is recommended for treating acute non-infected and infected wounds (post-traumatic wounds: scratches, lacerations, puncture wounds, stab wounds, bite wounds, crush injuries, postoperative wounds, surgical sutures — use according to surgeon's recommendations), chronic wounds (trophic ulcers, diabetic foot, pressure ulcers), external skin lesions in oncological diseases, eczema, and neurodermatitis, as well as for thermal and chemical burns of I–II degree. The gel shows highest effectiveness in wounds with delayed marginal epithelialization.

Antimicrobial Activity

HEALER® GEL has a pronounced bactericidal effect against Gram-positive and Gram-negative, aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, including antibiotic-resistant hospital strains. Among susceptible microorganisms: Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Streptococcus pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella spp., Neisseria gonorrhoeae; activity against herpes viruses, human immunodeficiency virus, and antifungal action against Aspergillus, Candida albicans, Candida tropicalis, Candida krusei, and dermatophytes has also been detected. The gel effectively prevents infection of wounds and burns and creates a barrier against microbial penetration through the dressing.

Method of Application

Before application, thoroughly clean the area around the wound and treat with HEALER MEDICAL® antiseptic or sterile saline solution according to instructions. Apply the gel evenly over the entire wound surface, filling cavities and cracks. If necessary, gauze, dressing, or compress can be pre-soaked with the gel. The gel should remain on the surface until the next dressing change. Do not use simultaneously with other antiseptic solutions, ointments, oils, or enzymes; all foreign substances should be removed before application.

Side Effects

A temporary burning sensation may occur after application, which usually subsides after a few minutes. Allergic reactions — itching (urticaria) or rash (exanthema) — may occur very rarely. In case of allergic reactions, discontinue use and administer symptomatic treatment (antihistamines).

Contraindications

• Do not use on hyaline cartilage or during aseptic joint surgery;
• do not use for lesions of the central nervous system or brain membranes;
• do not apply in the middle or inner ear cavity;
• do not apply to the eye's mucous membrane; avoid contact of the gel with eyes;
• do not use if there is a known or suspected hypersensitivity to the gel components.

For external use only. Do not swallow. Use only undamaged bottles. Keep out of reach of children.

Composition

Polyhexamethylene guanidine hydrochloride (0.1–0.15%), betaine – 0.1%, hydroxyethylcellulose, glycerin, purified water.

Storage Conditions and Shelf Life

Store in a dark place at a temperature from +2°C to +35°C. Shelf life — 3 years from the manufacturing date.
