History and Purpose

The MICH 2000 helmet was developed in the early 2000s in the USA as an evolution of the PASGT for special operations units. Thanks to its lightweight and streamlined shape, the ability to mount night-vision devices, and side rails for accessories, it quickly became a standard for special forces and NATO armies. This Ukrainian certified version is adapted to the modern needs of operators and military personnel.

Certification and Ballistic Characteristics

The helmet has passed tests in a laboratory at the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and has Class 1 protection according to DSTU 8835:2019, which corresponds to the requirements of NIJ 0106.01 Type IIIA. It ballistically confirms resistance to shots from 9×18 mm PM/APS 57-N-181s and 9×19 mm FMJ RN SC Luger/Parabellum calibers. A copy of the test protocol is included with each unit as documentary proof of quality and compliance with standards.

Materials and Construction

The helmet shell is made of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), which provides high impact resistance while maintaining low weight. The model weighs approximately 1.4 kg, making it comfortable for prolonged wear even in difficult conditions.

Comfort and Adjustment

The MICH 2000 is equipped with a suspension system with "dial" adjustment of the BOA / Team Wendy type, allowing for quick and precise fitting of the helmet to individual head circumference. Cushioning is provided by a double layer of soft hook-and-loop pads, which can be individually positioned for maximum comfort. Size: M-L (head circumference 55–59 cm).
