The knee brace design incorporates patented silicone web technology — a silicone weave around the knee with air pockets that expands and contracts, providing soft cushioning and even compression. Lateral stabilization is achieved through two inserts: a plastic insert on one side and an aluminum insert on the other, which allows for corrective pressure to align axial shifts in osteoarthritis. In the area of the aluminum insert, there is a hexagonal design pad that reduces localized pressure and helps alleviate pain.

The Donjoy OA Reaction features a thin, breathable material bandage that prevents direct contact of the silicone with the skin, enhances comfort during prolonged wear, and improves the microclimate under the knee brace.
